Wallflowers, Movies and the sun-sun-sun dance

I have great news, people. Great news. Remember that book, The Perks of Being a Wallflower (yes, the one where I got the idea for the name of this blog from)? They're adapting it into a movie! OMFG with a loud squee. This made me so, so happy. By 'they' I mean the movie making people of this world, and the author of the novel - who I heard would be the director of the film (which I think is great). And guess what, I heard Emma Watson will play the role of Sam, which is.. bizarre, in the way that I can't see her playing any other character other then that preppy little witch. Which is probably because I've never seen her as anything else than that. But I do wish the whole cast (and crew!) the best of luck with making this movie, and please, please, for the sake of the fans, make it a good one!

Speaking of movies, I watched 'Water for Elephants' the other day. (I know, I'm probably the last person on Earth not to have swooned over a sweaty, animal-loving Mr. Pattinson on the big screen for the third time already). But I watched it, and it was beyond great. And I do mean beyond great. So; if you haven't watched it yet - do it!

Remember how I always say my life is complete after having been to a concert? Well, it's true. With every concert I go to, my life becomes increasingly more complete. I know that's weird. Love is what should make you 'complete' and all that, but to me, it's currently books and music. In the last month or so, I've seen Noah & the Whale and Arctic Monkeys live. I'm telling you, nothing, nothing, can beat the feeling of screaming "I bet that you look good on the dancefloor" along with xhundres of other people while jumping up and down, hands raised to the ceiling. Nothing. Except singing along to "Five years time" by NATW live, doing the sun-sun-sun moves with your hands like they do in the music vid: the sun-sun-sun dance.

Okay, I'm falling asleep right now. Have a good weekend, you all:)

This is turning into a music blog

But I don't think I care. I do hope you'll still listen to my blog though, although I may not write as much as I did before. Why am I not writing, you ask? Well, that's because I'm all grown up and have decided school work is more important than wasting precious time blogging about random bullsh*t. (Not really, but I'm trying anyways). That's why, my friends, I will leave you with some good music to rock out to instead (you should be pleased. I'm sure it's better to listen to this than reading my random rambling, which, by the way, I know nobody's reading. See that visitor count over at the left side of my blog? It's went up by two visitors in the last month. Heh.. I should be feeling sorry for myself).

Give it up for some good music.

MIKA - Love Today

Coconut Records - Any Fun

The Drums - Best Friends

Ingrid Michaelson - Be OK

Jack Johnson - Upside Down

Ida Maria - I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked

Lots of Saturday love, PW

Don't you love it when it's 1 am and you have school tomorrow - and your neighbours are having a loud, LOUD party?

I should be asleep by now. But it's rather difficult seeing as how there's a big, loud party at one of the apartments in the building across from of where I live (facing my bedroom window). The music is way loud.. The only songs I still remember from the past hour or so are thse two - probably because they've been played on repeat several times..(yes, so, I just thought I'd share. When I can't sleep, why should anyone else, right?):

My first REAL festival!

I'm growing up, I really am. Graduation was a big deal and all, it was, but this, my first real festival, was even bigger. Almost.

This was not entirely my first musical festival, though. BUT it was the first festival where I had to live in a tent for seven days. I've learned a lot about myself so far. I'll make you a list:
1) I don't like bees much. Especially not if they're in my tent.
2) I need toilet paper to live. Almost more than I need food.
3) I love music more than I thought possible.
4) Cupcakes and chips for breakfast is only cool for the first three or four days you try it.
5) I think I'm in love with Julian Casablancas. (Yeah, not really, but he's funny. And I love The Strokes. He was amazing live, and hilarious as hell. Quotes of the day: "We're in a fucking forest!" (we were actually in a forest, it's just that he was the only one to point it out) and "So are you fucking in some tents or what?" Hehe.)
Oh, and Muse! Muse! I've seen Muse live! I was wrong when I said my life was complete after the Green Day and Joan Jett concert. Now, my life is complete. Almost. I become more complete after every concert I go to.

Happy summer time, PW

The Evolution of Alternative Music

Nirvana - Bush - Nickelback - Puddle of Mudd.
Hahah, puddle of mudd.

Puddle of Mudd - She Fucking Hates Me:

Great song, BUT they didn't make that song all on their own. Listen to this:
I Saw Your Mommy by Suicidal Tendencies:

Similar chord progression. Not so original after all then, now are we?

Why Couldn't I Have Been Born 10 Years Earlier?

You know that feeling when you KNOW you should be doing your homework? Yeah, I don't like that feeling.

So while I'm sitting here not doing my homework, I might as well post a song. Psycho Candy by The Jesus And Mary Chain (1988).

I wish I were born about 10-15 years earlier, so I could experience that time when The Cure, and these guys, and then Nirvana ruled the world.. I mean, I did exist when alternative rock, post-punk and grunge became mainstream, but I was like... two years old. So I kind of missed most of it. When I was young (okay, okay, younger than I am now), all anyone would ever talk about was Spice Girls. I remember playing spice girls in 1st grade. I was always Scary Spice (I'm still not sure why. I didn't even look like her. I had like light blonde hair and looked super cute when I was six).

Anyway, even though I didn't get to be a punk rock rebel of a teenager (I think I'd be pretty good at it), the music is still here, thank God. I don't even know what I would to if the only music I could listen to was Lady Gaga and Britney Spears.

By the way, did you notice I've changed my blog layout? I have. I was getting sick of all the pink. I don't really mind pink too much, it's just that it was in my face. All the freaking time (since I spend a lot of time on my blog, hehe). So I just needed something more.. me. And, umm, that Green Day and Joan Jett concert may have inspired me just a little, hehe.

That's all. Gonna go and get some homework done now. Hopefully. Just for the sake of it, since it's been years, Wannabe by Spice Girls (I can't believe I'm doing this):

Haha, good times.

(look, look! My very own signature. Creds to MyLiveSignature)

My Life Is Complete. Almost.

A lot can happen in a week.

And I mean a lot.

I've seen Green Day AND Joan Jett & The Blackhearts live! (My life is almost complete now. Really.) I can't quite describe it, what it was like. But if you've been to a rock concert with 20,000 people, seeing that band you really love, then imagine that just ten times better. That's what it was like. It was great. Picture from the actual concert. I was there. Favorite Green Day song live: Minority. Fuck 'em all!!

And Joan Jett.. who's like.. a genius.

Life isn't all rock 'n roll though. Reality tends to get in the way sometimes.. I need a job! And about a month ago I applied for a job a this record shop, and three days ago they finally called me! Yey! They actually called me in for a job interview today, and, me being me, I thought a job interview was a job interview no matter what kind of store you'll be working at. Turns out I was wrong. Getting a job at this record shop (or one of them; there's like ten of them around here) is like auditioning for American Idol or something.

It wasn't an interview at all. I showed up at 10:45 am, along with 30 others. I found that kind of weird, since, you know, I thought there would be an interview. One on one. Anyway, we were told to have a seat in this class room like room with desks and all, which was about the time all hell broke loose.

There was a test! A test! Oh my god.

We had one hour to answer 100 question about music, movies and games. 100, I'm not kidding. And the questions were really f*cking difficult. Directors on movies I've never even heard of, producer of some pop song that was on the top 20 chart a year ago, who wrote this song, when, and when did he/she win what kind of award. Name all the guys in Metallica (wtf was that all about? haha), and, haha, listen to this; What's the name of Super Mario's brother. Jeeeez. I mean, I knew that one, but still. I think I answered about 50% of the questions. And I consider myself to know more than average about music and movies (not games though. I still don't know the difference between Nintendo Wii and PlayStation, sue me.)

Anywhoo, I'm not giving up! After all, I saw Green Day live! I mean, I can live on that single night for like a year, I'm sure.

I'm tiiired. 2:13 am right now. Blogger should have closing hours or something, they really should. Night, night, sleep tight!
